One of my favourite techno artists , Curtis Jones is the man behind the techno orientated Green Velvet ,the owner of Cajual Records ,home of all things Chicago House,he also appears under the Cajmere guise when in a housey mood.
In times past under his Green Velvet moniker,he was a hugely influential force in techno circles,as famous for his records and live performances as for his hard partying.I can remember seeing him at a big Pure shindig at The Arches in Glasgow many years ago,where instead of using a mic to sing his vocals,he plugged his headphones into the mic socket,placed them on his head so that one of the headphones cups was over his mouth and proceeded to perform the rest of his set as normal.
Since he found God down the back of the settee,he seems happier,but it has affected the quality of his output in my opinion,and he is no longer the party animal he once was.
