Zotero is magic!
It is an extension for Firefox, the best damn browser on the planet. There is no standalone version, you want Zotero, then you need Firefox first.
Zotero helps you collect and manage your research sources, perfect if you want to research topics for a blog or it can easily handle much more serious projects. It can store whole web pages, pics, pdf’s,anything you want, then you can highlight areas of text, take notes directly onto the page you save, just like you might do the same thing on paper. It integrates with Word and the superb and highly recommended Open Office. It can generate reports ,create bibliographies and seperate collections of information can easily be cross referenced.
There is excellent support and some video tutorials on the site to get you started.Give it a go

If you like Zotero, you will like WizFolio too.
WizFolio allows you to capture citations from webpages as well, and even import citations that you copy to clipboard (most likely from your PDF). For me that’s a pretty cool innovation.
A little difference between the two: unlike Zotero, WizFolio is a web-based application. I am able to store all my PDFs and other attachments like powerpoint slides online. The advantage is that I can access them from office or home easily.
It works impressively fast for a web application too. Check it out at acad.wizfolio.com
Just an update, I think WizFolio is really revving up.
It now grabs even patents and videos and has an excellent yet simple citation tool for MS Word
Definitely a worthy addition to the researcher’s cache of tools.
