Hardfloor-Acperience

Hardfloor are a German duo,Oliver Bondzio and Ramon Zenker,as well known for their remix work as their own music.Acperience is almost certainly their most famous track,i remember first hearing it at Pure ,the legendary Edinburgh club. For months i had no idea who it was or what it was called,my mates and i simply called it,’that track’,and everyone knew what you meant when you said it.The dj’s at Pure seemed to be the only ones who had it,i don’t remember hearing it anywhere else, they seemed to play it almost weekly. It always got a very enthusiastic reaction.
Didn’t seem to matter where you were or what you were doing in the club, when folk heard that kickdrum/hi-hat/bass intro, they were off onto the floor,by the time the woodblock and the high drone tone comes in,the floor was heaving, then that massive snare roll into the double cymbal crash and the place was well and truly jumping.
Acid House was never quite the same again.
Also worth a listen is Lost In The Silver Box,another of their 303 workouts.
Both from the album TB Resuscitation.

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip

Now i know i’m a little behind the times with this one but i just got one of the most interesting albums to come my way in a while ,’Angles’ by Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip.A refreshing and slightly odd hip hop/electro mix up with some really clever wordplay. There are also some industrial/techno influences going on.I love the fact that he makes absolutely no effort to hide his accent and anyone that can write “Thou shalt not judge a book by it’s cover. Thou shalt not judge Lethal Weapon by Danny Glover.” is alright by me.
You can listen to four of their tracks at their Myspaz, check out Dan Le Sac’s blog and read a couple of reviews here and here.
